I have lost the keys, is it a problem ?
No this would not be a problem as long as we have your permission to gain entry to the vehicle.
The vehicle has stood for a long time.
This should be no problem although collection can take a little longer.
I want to scrap my car but does it need to be complete ?
We have no problem with you removing smaller parts and accessories from the vehicle but please tell us the full extent of the vehicle at the time of booking.
If I scrap my car when should I notify the DVLA ?
You should notify the DVLA when the vehicle is removed - If you do not have a logbook then you will be required to send a letter along with a copy of the disposal form to the DVLA, Swansea, SA99 1BD.
Can I claim back my unused car tax ?
Yes, you can visit the DVLA website and download a V14 document.
What do I need to do before and after my scrap car collection ?
Before collection you need to clear all contents from your vehicle and remove the tax disc if you wish to claim a refund. You must then complete section 9 on your logbook (V5 Document) and send it to the DVLA. If you do not have the V5 then you must notify them in writing (Always recorded post).

What happens after I phone or email ?
Your information will be sent to a local agent who will then call you to arrange a convenient time to collect your vehicle.
How long does collection take ?
Collection is normally made within 24 hours.
Do I need a logbook ?
We can scrap your car without the logbook V5 document. However it is important that you notify the DVLA with a covering letter that you have scrapped your vehicle. You might also want to print an extra copy of our vehicle surrender form and post that to DVLA, Swansea SA99 1BD.
I want to scrap my car but keep my number plate
When your application has been approved by the DVLA, you will receive a V778 Retention Document. Don’t sell or scrap your vehicle till you receive this document!
